Traveling through Germany and Austria and seeing all the beautiful wood pieces with black-filled knots reminded me of this ash tabletop. Filled this one with black Rangate knot filler—same idea, letting the imperfections stand out instead of hiding them. Funny how inspiration shows up when you’re not even in the shop

Running the boards through the drum sander before glue-up to get everything flat, then sending the panel back through after glue-up to clean it up. Love this tool for keeping things consistent. Check out the final tray at the end—want to see how it’s made?

Making some handles for this griddle tray. Started with a Forstner bit to open up the ends, connected the cuts with a jigsaw, then finished it off with a smooth roundover. Simple process, clean feel in the hand.
