🚜🚒 Touch-A-Truck is Coming to Effingham County! 🚓🚛

Bring the whole family out for a FREE morning of hands-on fun at Effingham County's Touch-A-Truck!

Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to see, touch, climb on, and explore a variety of County vehicles, heavy equipment, emergency response vehicles, and other specialized equipment while learning about the people and services that keep Effingham County running every day.

📅 Event Schedule

💙 9:00–10:00 a.m. | Quiet Hour
To make this event more inclusive, the first hour will be a Quiet Hour, with no horns or sirens, providing a more comfortable experience for children with sensory sensitivities.

✂️ 10:00 a.m. | EEMA Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Ribbon Cutting
Join us as we celebrate the official opening of the Effingham Emergency Management Agency's new Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC serves as the County's central location for coordinating disaster preparedness, emergency response, and recovery efforts, helping first responders and partner agencies work together effectively during hurricanes, severe weather, public safety incidents, and other emergencies.

🚜 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Full Touch-A-Truck Experience
Following the ribbon cutting, enjoy the full Touch-A-Truck experience! Explore an exciting lineup of vehicles, meet the people who operate them, and enjoy demonstrations, horns, sirens, and hands-on fun until noon.

💦 Fire Department Sprinkler Zone
The Effingham County Fire Department will be on-site with a fun sprinkler play area for the kids! Be sure to bring a towel and have your little ones wear clothes they don't mind getting wet.

☕🍧 Food & Refreshments
Take a break and grab a specialty drink from Paddles Coffee Truck or cool off with a delicious shaved ice from Kona Ice, available throughout the event.

🚜 Have a Vehicle to Display?
If your organization has a truck, heavy equipment, emergency vehicle, tractor, or other unique equipment and would like to participate, we'd love to have you! This is a great opportunity to connect with the community and showcase the important work you do.
