October 10 is World Mental Health Day. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world

We are one of eight collegiate newsrooms from across the nation 6 report on youth mental health and receive training and support from the Solutions Journalism Network. Thank you to the network, and we are looking forward to this opportunity.

On Tuesday, March 21, there will be a screening of the documentary film “Descended: The Fight for Harris Neck”. It explores an ongoing land battle in Harris Neck, Georgia. In 1942, the U.S. war department seized 2,687 acres of land from a self-reliant community of 75 African American families.

The screening, brought to you by the Office of Academic Affairs, Department of Journalism and Mass Communications, the History and Africana Studies departments and the Department of Marine and Environmental Sciences, will be held in the Norman B. Elmore Theater in the King-Frazier Student Center Complex, 6 p.m.
