The risk of great love is great loss, and the incredible love that this sweet boy brought into our lives was worth the broken hearts we have now. 💔
After a very normal, good day on Friday, Jake woke us up in the middle of the night. We rushed him to the nearest emergency hospital, where they discovered a splenic tumor that had ruptured. There was nothing to do but hold him and tell him how much we loved him as the vet freed him from his pain.
He’s been so happy lately, it’s hard to believe he is gone. This smile from a recent trip to the beach is everything. We’ll post more in the coming days, but for now, we just wanted you to know. So many of you have been part of his journey and cheered him on for so long. Thank you for being part of Team Jake.
Run free, sweet boy. Your dad and I love you so much, and we have no doubt that you’ve already found the best place to get treats and belly rubs in Heaven. 🐶❤️
