BEFORE the storm make sure to take photos and video, inside and outside of your home to document the items you have and the state they were in prior to the storm. Insurance companies are really cracking down on claims, so have that documentation.

After a storm go outside and look around at the roof, around the foundations for standing water, inside look at the baseboards, around the windows, and look up at the ceiling. THEN a week later look again inside at the areas because sometimes it is not until moisture dries up that it presents a stain.

Be safe, be prepared.

I got my first drone photo series off last night of Lights in Bloom at Selby Gardens for the 2022 season. Probably one of my favorite things to photograph. It is like seeing an old friend up in the sky. I have been doing this since 2018 and I love it every time.

I wanted to get an establishing shot of the lights and the city. I like to include the bridge and the city skyline so you can tell where you are with context to the location. I also usually do a blue hour version but was a little late last night. I think it is nice to see the lights in the dark because that is how your eyes will basically see them. I hope to get some other versions off soon but I couldn't resist last night when I saw Selby lit up.

I hope you like it. Stay tuned for more! Hopefully I will get some great shots of the boat parade tonight. Still figuring out my plan for that approach.
