In an ever-changing world of transient values and broken promises, it is a comfort and inspiration to turn to the integrity and immutability of God's word. When the constant bombardment of falsehoods tries to chip away at the foundation of your faith, stand firm in the truth of God's living word set down on ink and paper in the Holy Bible, there that we may draw from His well of strength and wisdom.

"Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle." -2 Thessalonians 2:15 KJV

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:" -James 1:19 KJV

It's been said that God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason: to listen more and speak less. These are wise words for anyone, but especially for us as Christian counselors who have a calling to listen, not only with our ears but with our hearts. We must also be intentional in listening to the Holy Spirit, who gives us counsel. Only then should we be willing to speak.

It is encouraging that God's word will always provide us with a plan that leads to success and avoids hostility.
