SUPERSTAR SUNDAY - Meet Ms. Jorja! She is an art student at Ringling College who is participating in a summer outreach program. We are so lucky to have her bringing arts lessons to Star Lab's campers twice a week.

Jorja plans absolutely beautiful lessons that connect to our curriculum, and she helps us experience the relaxing effect of creativity. Thank you so much for joining us this summer!

KaiPod Learning is a national network of microschools - and we so appreciate their shout out for our Family Cooking Classes. We learn so much from amazing schools, changing the paradigm, all over the country.

Star Lab would like to be the first to congratulate Ms. Danette Williams on an amazing first session of our Family Cooking Class Series!

Star Lab wants to help families with the age-old question - What's for Dinner? We brainstormed obstacles, and found out we all have similar challenges - from lack of time, to organizing ingredients, to choosing a recipe that everyone will eat, to juggling kids/homework/new babies!

Thanks to generous support and inspiration from The Community Foundation of Sarasota County, we were able to provide families with an evening of food, fellowship, and figuring out how to leverage a life hack - the InstaPot - to address their challenges. Danette modeled a recipe - Publix's delicious taco chili - and served it up to all of us while the children played games with each other in the classroom and on the playground. When the children joined us for dinner, parents saw the kids loved it too!

Every family left with their own InstaPot, utensils, recipe card, and a bag of groceries to recreate the recipe at home. We also brainstormed flavors and recipes that we are interested in learning about for the future.

We are very excited for our next class on July 16!
