This Friday, December 3rd, is being recognized as International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Well, if Friday is being recognized as International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we here at the Special Needs World Hall of Fame would like to have Saturday, December 4th recognized as International Day of Persons with Special Abilities. You see, when we see someone facing challenges or obstacles and doing what it takes to overcome them, we don’t see that as a disability, we see it as an amazing accomplishment that shows how truly special that individual is. While we recognize where their challenges may be, we choose to use positive uplifting empowering terminology to describe a human being instead of having them be recognized by their “societal imperfections.” While some people may want to point out the things that they believe we can't do, we are here to share the stories of when we proved those same people wrong!
