🚧 The Bridge, Uncovered

As deck removal continues at Wohler Bridge, crews are revealing more of the structure that has supported travelers for generations.

The latest photos offer a rare look at the bridge with much of its concrete driving surface removed, exposing the steel framework beneath. You'll also see close-up images of the original rivets that are being replaced as part of ongoing structural strengthening work.

Construction remains focused on deck removal and reinforcing key bridge components, with additional crews expected to help advance the work in the coming weeks.

As a reminder, Wohler Bridge remains closed to all traffic through October 30 while these critical repairs are completed.

πŸš§πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸš² Thank you to the Springs Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) for hosting an informative community discussion on transportation, road safety, and infrastructure improvements in the Springs.

Sonoma County Public Infrastructure Deputy Director Vanessa Garrett joined Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo and community members to share updates on current and upcoming projects, including the Watmaugh Road Bridge Replacement Project, Highway 12 pedestrian crossing improvements, the Arnold Drive Bike Lane Project, Verano frontage improvements, and ongoing roadway maintenance efforts. Community members also had the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss local transportation priorities.

Municipal Advisory Councils help connect local communities with County government by providing a forum for discussion on issues that matter most to residents. We appreciate the Springs MAC for bringing together community members and County staff for this important conversation.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped shape the discussion. Public input plays an important role in helping us improve safety and mobility for everyone who lives, works, and travels in the Springs.
