Motivation Monday!

Marines, poolees, and guests went to Fleet Week in San Francisco to experience what the capabilities and opportunities that the Marines display to the public. These young men and women toured the USS Harpers Ferry. Poolees and guests also got to talk to Active Duty Marines about the various career programs and equipment that the poolees and guests got to explore and observe. Overall, the Marines, guests, and poolees all had a great experience and eager to get their future started. You want to know more about the events Santa Rosa does? What is Educator’s Workshop?

Educators Workshop is a week-long, all-expense-paid, immersive experience that gives educators a first-hand look at what it means to become a Marine.

Pictured is Mrs. Cherita Dilley from Vallejo Unified School District. Cherita was hesitant to attend the workshop as her view of the Armed Forces wasn’t a positive one, however she kept her mind open to see how the Marines could benefit her students.

After spending some time with the Marines and seeing what opportunities would be available for her students, Ms. Cherita said, “Becoming a Marine is a process, it’s not just signing up and putting on a uniform and becoming a Marine. They really do go through a process of breaking down bad habits and then building the young men and women up to become men and women of character. That’s the first thing that really stands out that’s important.”
