This spring, Santa Rosa Symphony musicians brought live music into the community through a partnership with the Sonoma County Library Foundation.
Over three weekends in April, we presented five free library concerts featuring a String Quartet performing How a String Quartet Is Like a Tree (two performances) and a Santa Rosa Symphony Brass Trio (three performances).
The concerts welcomed library visitors, families with children, Santa Rosa Symphony board members, and community members of all ages. Across all five performances, approximately 150 people attended.
These performances support our ongoing goal of sharing music and information about Santa Rosa Symphony throughout Sonoma County while building meaningful community partnerships. We are grateful to Sonoma County Library for collaborating with us on this series and for covering musician costs, helping make these programs accessible to library patrons.
One of the highlights of the series was seeing young audience members respond to the music—especially the children who couldn't resist dancing along.
The partnership continues this June with additional Library Concerts led by Artistic & Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong, Conductor. Dates and locations are available on the Sonoma County Library calendar: https://lnkd.in/eUtDkhrx
And: https://www.srsymphony.org/event-calendar/
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make these performances possible.
