Home sales under contract gained 1.1% in September from the month before, according to the National Association of Realtors on Thursday, besting the 7.1% drop in August. The result was also far better than the 2% decline that Bloomberg economists had forecasted and follows a similar increase in new home sales last month.
Housing activity unexpectedly perked up last month with pending sales posting an upside surprise Home sales under contract gained 1.1% in September from the month before.
