Exchange Bank has been a proud sponsor of the Community Matters -Safe School Ambassadors Upstander Luncheon, contributing more than $15,000 over the last 5 years. The event is centered on empowering youth and transforming communities through courage, connection, and inclusion.
Community Matters is making a powerful impact by teaching students and adults how to create schools and communities that are safe, welcoming, and inclusive. They are recognized for their leadership in advancing school safety, fostering positive school climates, preventing bullying, and empowering communities to ensure all individuals can thrive.
Founded by Rick Phillips in the wake of the Columbine tragedy, Community Matters was built on the belief that young people have the power to create meaningful change. As Phillips shared, “The organization was created to wake up courage and provide young people with purpose, power, and a place where they feel connected.”
The organization’s impact continues to grow nationwide through the Safe School Ambassadors® program, which equips students with the tools and confidence to support one another and encourage inclusivity on campus. To date, Community Matters has supported more than 2,300 schools, impacted over 200,000 students, trained 35,000 educators, and expanded programming across 42 states.
Exchange Bank is especially honored to support the organization through the leadership and involvement of our AVP - Compliance Quality Control Specialist, Erin Williams, who serves on the Board of Directors. Erin’s dedication reflects our shared commitment to building safer, stronger and more connected communities for future generations.
Thanks to the organization, teachers, and school ambassadors who come together to make a difference.

Have you had the opportunity to meet Doris Duncan, executive director of Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue?
Doris has been part of the Exchange Bank family since 1989, a relationship built on shared values of community, education, and stewardship. A recipient of the Doyle Trust scholarship, she has long championed the importance of education. She continues to prioritize learning, not only in her professional life, but also in her personal life, as she has taught her children and grandchildren the importance of understanding finance at an early age.
Through her work, Doris does far more than lead a wildlife conservation effort. She advances wildlife rehabilitation, education, and human-wildlife conflict resolution — helping create a more informed and compassionate community.
We’re proud to support leaders like Doris who give back so generously and make a lasting impact across Sonoma County.
As Doris shares, “Not only is Exchange Bank convenient, but we’ve built a community together—and they’ve always been there for me and my family.”
Sonoma County—and its wildlife—are better because of her work.

At Exchange Bank, small businesses are celebrated year around and during National we’d like to highlight some of the entrepreneurs who are shaping and strengthening our local communities.
Starting a small business isn’t easy. It takes vision, resilience, and the right financial partner to navigate the road from idea to growth. At Exchange Bank, we’re proud to support business owners at every stage—whether they’re launching, expanding, or planning for the future.
Steve Hopkins, owner of 101 Seamless Gutters, has been part of the Exchange Bank family for more than 20 years. When the opportunity arose to purchase the business, our team worked alongside him to secure an SBA loan and make that next step possible. Today, Steve isn’t just running a successful company—he’s building a legacy for his family.
If you’re exploring financing to acquire a business or invest in equipment, our team is here to help.
And if you’re in need of roofing or gutter services, we encourage you to support 101 Seamless Gutters in Rohnert Park.
