What a great day in Fresno! 🙌

Ghilotti Construction was proud to attend the 5th Annual Caltrans DBE-SB Summit at the Fresno Convention Center, and it did not disappoint. Our very own Monique Quam and Annette Conley had the pleasure of connecting with so many talented small businesses, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs) from across the region — exactly the kind of conversations we came for.

Events like this remind us why investing in partnerships matters. The public works sector is built on collaboration, and we left Fresno energized by the incredible firms and individuals we had the chance to meet.

Ghilotti Construction completed the Auburn Blvd at Arcade Creek Bridge Replacement Project for the City of Sacramento, in only three months.

The project scope included full bridge demolition and new construction from the ground up, featuring CIDH piles, two abutments, precast concrete girders, storm drain improvements, curb and gutter, and sidewalk replacement. Our team also coordinated the installation of a PG&E gas line casing under the bridge, a water line along the bridge, and a creek diversion. To ensure public safety during construction, we built a temporary pedestrian bridge for continued access.

Additional improvements included the installation of street lighting, temporary traffic signals, barriers, and guardrails—all completed within the same tight timeframe.

This project required exceptional coordination among multiple crews, subcontractors, and utility providers, often working simultaneously in small areas under demanding schedules. Thanks to careful planning and outstanding teamwork—including a successful weekend closure to complete paving—the project was delivered smoothly and on schedule.
