Stimming helps regulate the nervous system when feeling strong emotions. Not only negative emotions, but strong emotions.
Excitement, anxiety, and stress may make stimming more pronounced.
Looking for patterns of stimming can help us understand the emotional state of kids and teens we teach and parent.
