Happy Black History Month!
This lovely person is Delilah Beasley, a pioneer for Massage and Bodywork in the US. Besides being a Massage Therapist, she was a writer ("Negro Trailblazers in California", 1919), the first black woman to work as a columnist at the Oakland Tribune, journalist, activist, studied in hydrotherapy, nursing and medical gymnastics which is the precursor of Physical Therapy today. Delilah Beasley is an inspiration to me as she truly did pave her own way in the world of Massage Therapy while addressing the segregation of minorities in the Health and Wellness industry.
