🚩🤿 10 Steps to a Clean DSMB Deployment 🌊
A delayed surface marker buoy looks simple… right up until current picks up, visibility drops, or deco obligations start stacking. That’s why we drill DSMB deployment until it becomes smooth, controlled, and repeatable. No tangled spools. No runaway ascents. No chaos at 20 feet.
This video breaks down the process step by step — from spool management and buoy inflation to body position and ascent control. A DSMB isn’t just a “tech diver thing” anymore. It’s one of the most important signaling and safety tools a diver can carry, whether you’re drifting Catalina, running offshore wrecks, or doing decompression stops.
♻️ Controlled deployments also protect the environment and your team. Good buoyancy and proper trim prevent reef contact, entanglement, and accidental damage while task loading increases.
What you need just a cosed-bottom DSMB, finger spool with a stainless double-ender. Simple, reliable, streamlined. But remember the gear only works if you practice with it.
