“The clapping gesture is called the and is traditionally done by Lethwei fighters to challenge their opponents with honor and courage. It comes from the birds of prey and mimics the clapping of the wings.
The is the fight dance ritual. “Yay” simply means dance in Burmese language. It is done before the fight to showcase your skills and experience. It is also performed at the end of the fight as a victory dance or by both fighters in case of a draw in traditional rules..The more fluid the Yay is, the more skilled a fighter is deemed to be.
