THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT JESUS (AND WHY YOU NEED ALL THREE)

We say three things about Jesus: He's here, He's Lord, and He's good. We need all three.

First, Jesus is here. He's drawn near, close and present. At His birth He was named Emmanuel: God with us.

Then comes His lordship. He's above it all: Holy, King of all kings, all authority His. Nothing is too hard for Him.

Right in the middle sits one word: good. We feel it in His nearness, His grace, His love, and His embrace.

Even when He disciplines us, even in the hard seasons, He never stops being good. The people who met Jesus said it in Mark 7:37: "He does all things well."

Lose one and the whole picture breaks. Here without Lord, or Lord without good, leaves us with a broken view of who He is.

Hold all three together. He's near, He's Lord, and in all things He is good.

So the real question: when life is hard and He feels far, can we still say He is good? We can. He can only be good.
