Great review posted last week on Nextdoor by Michael McGeary:

We have a well with harder water than the city's. When we moved here in late 2013, we
installed a small device called a HydroFlow. You clamp it around the water pipe where it
enters the house, plug it in, and the electrical field causes the mineral ions to stick to each
other instead of the plumbing. We have a dishwasher and a Rinnai on-demand hot water
heater, and have never had a problem with them. We obtained it from New Water
Innovations, on Pacheco. They also have solutions for other problems. We eventually got a
reverse osmosis system for the kitchen sink from them, but because our well water has a
contaminant in it, not because of the water hardness. By the way, if you live downstream
from the airport, they also have a system for removing PFAS, which, unlike reverse osmosis,
removes the PFAS but then sends them down drain to the next person, retains the PFAS, so
they can be buried at the dump. I am sure you can google their reviews, and also
HydroFlow.

Possible Water Damage Averted From Too High Water Pressure

When normal water pressure into your home is between 40-60 psi and yours escalates to 103, what do you do? It happened to me recently and I was glad I had the tools to mitigate a disaster. While at work I received an alert on my phone and contacted my plumber. He knows I just had wood floors installed and told me to immediately shut off the water coming into the home. I simply pressed a button on my PhynPlus app and the water was shut off. If I hadn’t received an alert, pipes may have burst and caused damage. A woman across the street from me had a toilet hose blow off at 2:00 in the morning.

In addition to PhynPlus alerting of danger and giving its users the ability to shut off water immediately, no matter where you are, the presence of a water pressure regulator is important. Sometimes called a pressure-reducing valve, it reduces water pressure coming into the home to a safe level before it reaches any plumbing fixtures.
