Membership is open to any FCC licensed amateur radio operator interested in volunteer public service. ARES is an acronym for Amateur Radio Emergency Service, a public service of the ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League), the United States' national association of amateur radio operators. SFARES will participate in the annual ARRL Field Day on June 22, 2019 beginning at 1200 local time. The location will be at Herb Martinez Park on Camino Carlos Rey in Santa Fe.
