Celebrate the 250th anniversary of of the United States by joining or watching all of the races, parades, and firecrackers shooting up in the sky that is happening throughout Santa Cruz County.

One event worth mentioning is the 2026 Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Firecracker Run, where participants can choose to run a 10K, 5K or Kids 1K race. Admission is between $17 - $48, with proceeds supporting local youth programs and scholarships throughout Santa Cruz County.

The race starts between 8am – 12pm Saturday July 4th, at Harvey West Park located at 326 Evergreen St, Santa Cruz.

The City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department and the Santa Cruz Woodie Club are hosting the 30th Annual Woodies on Wharf. The event will start this Saturday June 27, 2026 between 10am to 3:30pm. The Woodie Parade at the wharf begins promptly at 3:30 PM.

Enjoy the sun, support the local wharf businesses, win raffle prizes, and appreciate the classic wooden cars right around the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Parking will be limited so be sure to check the wharf to see where public parking may be available.

Downtown Santa Cruz hosts a maker’s market on every 3rd Sunday, and the next one will; happen tomorrow June 21st 10am – 5pm.
