✨Summer Solstice Greetings✨
As we approach the Summer Solstice I came across a most fascinating Scientific American article on diurnal ants navigating by solar positions and nocturnal ants navigating to and from food sources by the moon. How cool to have an innate solar or lunar compass—their own version of a North Star to navigate by.

This world amazes me. We live on a speck of dirt and water in a vast universe with a star that we circle around that we call the Sun. 13 million earths could fit into that sun. The light and heat from this star travels 93 million miles to reach us, yet you can feel its rays.

Its solar flares impact our technology; you could get a “star burn” from it if exposed for too long. We all are occasionally tempted to complain about the weather; its too cold, its too hot. Let’s choose to adjust our clothing instead and be amazed and celebrate this world and the Sun that sustains us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I have been enjoying this expansive solar energy. The stone fruit are dripping sweet juices, the corn tassels sway in the breeze, and the melons are cold and refreshing.
The beach calls. The mountain trails and rivers whisper, “Come, come. Get outside and enjoy this amazing planet we call home”.

The descent into darkness will come soon enough when we arrive at the Winter Solstice.

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year and falls on Sunday, June 21, at 1:24 a.m. PDT which marks the exact moment the Earth’s axis is tilted closest to the sun.

May we breathe in bright, warm, expansive light.
May we breathe out joy, play, relaxation, growth.

✨With gratitude from all at Paradise Found✨
