Davis® Workshops and Programs weren’t created in a traditional classrooms or research labs. They emerged from the lived experience of Ronald Dell Davis - a man diagnosed with severe autism and dyslexia who completely transformed our understanding of neurodivergent minds.
In 1942, doctors gave Ron's mother devastating news: her son would "never learn, speak, or achieve beyond what a chimpanzee could." Yet at age nine, Ron suddenly became aware of the world around him, beginning an extraordinary developmental journey.
Unable to learn through traditional methods, young Ron made a profound discovery in his backyard. By mixing dirt with water to create clay, he began modeling letters and objects - creating a multi-sensory bridge to understanding that traditional education couldn't provide.
This child who was labeled "uneducable" tested with an IQ of 137 at age 17 - genius level! By 27, it had risen to an extraordinary 169.
When Ron finally discovered how to overcome his perceptual challenges at age 38, he dedicated his life to helping others. The same clay modeling techniques that helped him make sense of the world as a child became the foundation of the Davis® Method.
What makes our approaches truly unique? It was developed by someone who understood neurodivergence from the inside out - who lived through the challenges and transformed them into breakthrough insights that continue to change lives today.
