Electrical Safety Matters ⚡
We just completed a full rewire on a home that had a mix of modern wiring tied directly into old k**b and tube — along with multiple open splices hidden in walls and ceilings.
This is exactly the kind of thing that makes electricians lose sleep.
Here’s why 👇
• K**b and tube wiring was never designed to handle today’s electrical loads.
• Tying new wiring into old systems can overload conductors that were meant for a completely different era.
• Open splices (wires twisted together without a junction box) are a major fire hazard. No containment. No protection. No margin for failure.
• Hidden connections make troubleshooting nearly impossible and increase the risk of overheating inside walls.
Over time, loose or overloaded connections create heat. Heat inside a wall cavity + dry lumber = a real problem waiting to happen.
The good news? This home's wiring is now addressed and brought up to modern safety standards.
If your home was built before the 1960s and still has original wiring — or if you’re seeing unboxed splices during renovations — it’s worth having it inspected.
Electrical work isn’t just about making things “work.”
It’s about making sure your family is safe long term.
If you have questions about older wiring in your home, we’re always happy to take a look.

⚠️ Home Inspection Alert: A Hidden Electrical Hazard ⚡
We recently received a call from a homeowner who was concerned about findings in their inspection report. They were told there could be potential electrical hazards and wanted a second look.
What we found is something we see more often than you’d think:
➡️ Newer wiring spliced into old k**b-and-tube and cloth wiring.
This is a major safety concern and a big no-no.
Older wiring systems like k**b-and-tube and cloth wiring were never designed to handle today’s electrical loads. Splicing modern wiring into them can lead to:
🔥 Overheating
🔥 Fire risk
⚡ Unreliable connections
⚡ Failed inspections or insurance issues
The good news? Catching these issues early—especially during a home inspection—gives homeowners the opportunity to fix them before they become dangerous or costly.
If your home inspection mentions outdated wiring or electrical concerns, it’s important to have a licensed electrician evaluate what’s really going on behind the walls.
