Here’s something you don’t hear enough:
ABA alone is not enough to meet a child’s full developmental needs.
Kids grow best when multiple supports work together. Speech, OT, AAC, school teams, parents, and ABA professionals all collaborating, not working in silos.
Your child is a whole human, not a checkbox.
They deserve a whole team.
And when everyone is aligned?
That’s when the magic happens.

People hear “ABA” and think drills, data sheets, clipboards.
But that’s not us.
ABA Inc. is advocacy. It’s understanding. It’s slowing down long enough to see who a child actually is, not who someone thinks they should be.
It’s building connection, supporting communication, honoring autonomy, and celebrating the beautifully different ways kids show up in the world.
Therapy is just one piece.
The real work is helping kids feel seen, safe, and understood.

If your child’s “defiance” doesn’t respond to sticker charts, time-outs, or consequences, you’re not doing anything wrong.
You might be looking at a different function entirely.
What looks like Oppositional Defiant Disorder on the surface (refusal, arguing, avoidance) might actually be a PDA profile underneath. A nervous system reacting to demands with panic, not attitude.
These kids aren’t trying to control you.
They’re trying to protect themselves.
When you shift from control to connection, everything starts to change.
Safety before compliance.
Autonomy before demands.
Collaboration before correction.

You may have seen posts about the Department of Education and talk of moving special education oversight to Health & Human Services (HHS).
Let’s break it down clearly, calmly, and without the noise.
This proposal could shift who manages IDEA funding, compliance, and protections for students with disabilities.
Some believe this change could streamline services. Others worry it could weaken oversight, reduce consistency across states, and disrupt supports that families and professionals rely on.
As behavior analysts and disability advocates, this matters deeply to us.
The systems that fund and protect special education directly affect the children, families, and professionals we serve every day.
💭 We want to hear from you:
How could these changes impact your students, clients, or school community?
