Thank you Canyons School Board for recognizing the efforts of district office employees, including our amazing RSD staff, during this COVID year. The Board is paying $1000 bonuses to these employees. The legislature approved $1500 for school employees. THANK YOU TO ALL!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

It’s a been a heavy-lifting year for Canyons District’s 38 social workers. From the implementation of a new social-emotional curriculum to the addition of wellness rooms in 18 of Canyons District’s elementary schools and creation of “coping with anxiety” and “parenting in a pandemic” classes for families, school social workers have been beacons of hope since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In any year, these licensed professionals help remove barriers to student success and collaborate with teachers to build supportive school climates where all students feel safe, welcome, and included. But in a crisis, they are the glue that keeps students connected to school. They are relationship-builders, hand-holders, cheerleaders, and the consolers-in-chief at their schools. Join us in celebrating National School Social Work Week, March 7-13, with a message of thanks to those who have helped light the way in this most challenging year.
