Even the sweetest dogs can bite if they feel scared, startled, or threatened. That’s why it’s so important to respect a dog’s boundaries and pay attention to their body language.

Simple steps like not leaving children unattended with pets, asking before petting a dog, and recognizing signs of stress can help prevent bites before they happen. Dog bites can occur with any breed, any size, and even with familiar pets, which is why awareness and education are key.

Understanding how dogs communicate helps keep everyone safer — both people and pets.
