Before iMpact Utah, Mecham served as the Director for Continuous Improvement at the Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA), and before that, as the Director of Lean Consortia of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). In industry, he was the COO of Powerblanket, a manufacturer of industrial electric blankets for freeze protection and process temperature control. While overseeing the operations at Powerblanket, Mecham helped triple the size of the company and dramatically reduce production time for their products while increasing quality. The company received the Manufacturing Excellence Award from the Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and the Manufacturer of the Year Award from the Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA). Mecham is a Utah native who likes to spend time with family. Together, they enjoy traveling, hiking, and camping. He serves on the board of directors of the Wallace Toronto Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to humanitarian service in the Czech and Slovak Republics. He is also one of seven city council members of Sandy City, a community of 100,000 residents.
