The Mechot Throw — cozy and comforting in Amharic — is handwoven in Ethiopia on a traditional four-harness loom, from locally sourced natural cotton, pigmented in eco-friendly dyes, and finished with tied fringes by artisans preserving a heritage craft.
Substantial in weight. Thoughtful in every detail. Plastic-free, vegan, and Fair Trade certified — made with as much care for the world as for the home it ends up in.
Drape it over a chair, fold it at the foot of a bed, or simply keep it close. The kind of piece that earns a permanent place.
Available in the shop — link in bio.

Something we’ve been quietly working on — and so glad to finally share. A boutique cabin destination tucked into the North Georgia mountains. We had the pleasure of helping furnish and shape the feeling of this space alongside some dear friends, and it’s everything we hoped it would be — warm, considered, and ready for the Calnin House finishing touch. More to come. Start following now to see the reveal.

Some objects don’t just fill a space, they layer it with feeling.

These two found porcelain pieces, painted with landscapes that feel like somewhere that hold the artist’s memories.

That’s the quiet work of slow décor. You don’t need to know the story behind each object, the wondering is enough.

When a room is built this way, piece by piece, each one carrying something, it becomes a space where you can dream a little, rest and return to yourself.

Both pieces available online at CalninHouse.com, link in bio.

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with ShoutOut Atlanta about Calnin House. I shared about my understanding of “conscious capitalism”, a movement to practice business for the benefit of all, including the environment.

Where wealth is defined not as having more money or things, but also having time, health, longevity, and peace.

Calnin House champions these values by sourcing from makers and manufacturers who create safe, fair work environments, small artisans and vintage or found items.

I share my journey from non profit to consciously for profit where wealth is shared all along the value chain.
