My hygienist Katherine told me once that she gets to do her job here the way she always wanted to do it.
What she means is that I give her real time with each patient. Time to look at you carefully, to listen to what's going on, to be gentle, and to actually answer your questions. The math of dental hygiene only works when the person doing it has time to do it well.
We use lasers, air polishing, 3D imaging, and intraoral scanners. We also have an in-office periodontist who works alongside Katherine when your gums need more attention so instead of you walking out with a referral, we coordinate as a team in the same building.
When she looks at your mouth, she's looking past the teeth. Bite, gum tissue, oral cancer screening, signs of sleep apnea, everything's connected, and we'd rather catch something early than have you find out about it the hard way later.

Dental care can feel expensive. But neglect? That always costs more. 💙
The best part of my job is watching a patient walk in afraid and walk out confident in their smile AND their health.
Whether it's Invisalign or sleep apnea treatment, we go above and beyond because YOU matter. Your fears matter. Your results matter.
What's been holding you back? Drop it in the comments. No judgment here.

The team at my San Ramon dental office calls me nerdy.
It's accurate. I take a hundred hours of continuing education every year. Classes, conferences, hands-on workshops, sometimes flights to other states. Not because I have to. Because the moment I find out something exists that could help my patients, it stops feeling optional. It becomes a thing I want to bring back to the office.
A lot of the technology in my San Ramon practice came home with me from a class. CEREC same-day crowns. Hard and soft tissue lasers. The CariVu detection tool I've been using for nine years to find cavities before they need drilling. Curodont, for remineralizing early decay instead of restoring it. Virtual monitoring for Invisalign. NightLase laser therapy for patients with airway issues.
These tools are why your treatment can sometimes be more conservative than you expected, faster than you expected, or more comfortable than you expected. The point isn't being on the leading edge for its own sake. The point is what you walk out with.
You don't know what you don't know until you know it. So I'd rather know.

"I'm honestly surprised I'm wearing this thing."
That's what one of my sleep patients told me about her oral appliance. She'd tried CPAP for years and hated every minute. The noise, the mask, the feeling of air constantly pushing into her face.
When I suggested an oral appliance, she was skeptical. Like, great, another thing to put in my mouth at night.
But a few weeks in, she realized she was just... wearing it. Every night. Without thinking about it. Because it wasn't uncomfortable, it wasn't loud, and it actually made her feel better in the morning.
That's the difference I see between CPAP compliance and oral appliance compliance. CPAP works really well when you can tolerate it. But a lot of people can't. And something you'll actually wear beats something you won't.
If you've given up on CPAP, don't give up on treating your sleep.
