Replacing the solar water pump on the well at the Mansa Orphan Center, proved to be a greater challenge than anticipated. First we found that the existing control unit was incompatible with the new pump. And so we had to replace and rewire the whole system. Then for two days the new pump would trip out every so often, and only late today (our second day on the job) we figured out that our well had silted in over the years, and so after lifting the pump several meters high in the well, our new pump kicked in and started doing the job its supposed to. So now clean drinking water is again flowing freely for our Orphans and the community. Do pray for us as we take off tomorrow morning early AM on the long all day drive back to Lusaka for the next phase of our trip.
