There’s certainly a lot of political noise thrumming in our ears these days; it’s hard to know what to believe. One thing is true, no matter which party you follow, 247 years ago, a new upstart country threw off the shackles of a Monarchy and started a new nation. A good nation, a strong nation. This is not a nation without flaws, but a nation that sees its flaws, learns from them, and endeavors to make things better. We are a nation still growing, learning, and leading the world. Celebrate, parade, eat and drink. Be with friends and family, and remember the men AND women who fought the great power so that we could have political arguments without fear of a King clapping us in irons. We have a lot to celebrate in this country. So happy 4th, be well, be safe and be like ThoughtLab, savor the freedoms that were hard won on this day and all days to come.
Together, we created beautiful, graceful animation and a website that matched the Capsule House creative drive and artistic vision. We carried their meticulously crafted art and immersive storytelling style into a website that is a portal to the fantastical. This Web3 gem is now a compendium of adventures and the art & music that drives them.
Flag Resolution of June 14, 1777, stated, "Resolved: that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation."
The stars and stripes were adopted to represent this nation that day—a symbol of freedom, possibility, and hope. Through the years, Old Glory has seen some rough times and has been a beacon of hope and a promise of something better. She can be burned by enemies and used as a political cudgel. Still, the ideals she represents, and the struggles we endured to have this banner flown above our nation never vanish, never waver, and will remain as long as we keep an eye on the flag and the purpose she symbolizes. It’s flag day; we here at ThoughtLab wave her with pride and honor in our hearts all that this flag represents and the ideals that wove her and this nation together.
Web 2 gave us myriad marketing capabilities, including blogs and Google ads. The step from Web 1 to Web 2 was enormous. Now we have an active, interactive life online.
Now comes Web3...
Experts agree that defining Web3 is a bit of a struggle, and the definition adjusts with whoever is defining it. But this is the case with all new technologies that bring us to the frontier of change.
Any new technology comes with its share of dreams, hopes, and enthusiasm. Most of us are still awaiting our flying cars so we can live that Jetson’s dream.
In the Web3 dream, people can share photos, communicate with friends, shop, comment, and review without interacting with big tech companies. The Web3 dream sees a multitude of smaller companies competing on the blockchain.
With Web3, you receive a token for your contribution when you post a message. This gives users an ownership stake in the platform and, someday, a way to cash in. And this allows users to avoid fees, rules, and the strictures of major tech companies. The irony is major tech companies are very interested in Web3.
Web3 offers so many possibilities beyond just getting power decentralized. There are new markets to explore, new ways of communicating, and new frontiers still with virgin snow on the ground waiting to be occupied. There is too much going on for it not to keep going on.
If you think Web3 is a place you need to be marketing, talk to the experts at ThoughtLab.

Our days are busy, and our lives are full; there’s scant time to stuff anything else into our busy schedules. We take for granted the simple freedoms we have, and, at times, we forget how we got here. Memorial Day affords us the chance to stop and think about the men and women who had busy schedules as well, but put their lives on pause because they saw injustice and oppression in the world. They saw threats to freedom and democracy, and instead of sitting back and complaining, they went and laid down their lives so those who came after them could be free and safe. This country has too many human lawns showing us the cost of freedom. On this Memorial Day, fit a moment of silence into your day. In that silence, think about those who went before and the sacrifice they made. In that silence, think about the peaceful lives these heroes gave up so others could follow their dreams, raise their families, greet friends, and live freely. The moment we forget is the moment we impugn the glory, the importance, and the sheer beauty of the sacrifice these men and women made. ThoughtLab is humbled by the sacrifices made in the past and the sacrifices that the men and women in our military continue to make daily. To all, we wish a most peaceful Memorial Day.
