Utah is taking important steps to make sure that cancer patients who live in rural locations can stay close to home and still get the care they need, without traveling to Salt Lake or Utah counties.
Check Your Health: TeleHealth oncology allows cancer patients to be treated closer to home Heber Valley Hospital recently began offering Intermountain TeleHealth oncology services to local patients, including onsite chemotherapy treatments and consultations with Intermountain Healthcare’s team of oncologists and cancer experts from Intermountain Cancer Center.

Over the last year, many people stopped going to the doctor because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s still important to get the health care you need.
Ask your doctor if you’re due for a cancer screening test. If so, ask how to get it.
Know your body. If something doesn’t feel right, call your doctor’s office. You may be able to talk to your doctor online, by phone, or through e-mail.
Visit CancerUtah.org or call 1-800-717-1811 to see if you qualify for a free breast and cervical cancer screening from the Utah Department of Health.
