This week at Santa Lucia Rotary, we welcomed Francisco Rojas and Jesse Shaw from Interim, Inc., a nonprofit celebrating 50 years of providing services and supporting mental health in Monterey County.

Interim, Inc. provides essential services focused on recovery, dignity, and community integration. They are the only agency in Monterey County offering a full range of support for adults living with serious mental illness, including mental health treatment, affordable housing, residential treatment, social support, homeless outreach, and supported education and employment services.

Their mission is to provide services and affordable housing that support members of our community with mental illness in building productive and satisfying lives.

Interim, Inc. is also hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, October 24, 2026, to support the Marina Kai Apartments project.

This week at Santa Lucia Rotary, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Jesus Gonzales, a Physician Resident at Natividad Medical Center.

Dr. Gonzales shared his inspiring journey, from his early days in high school, through the challenges of medical school, and ultimately to his current role serving our community at Natividad. His story highlighted the dedication, perseverance, and mentorship that helped guide him along the path to becoming a physician.

Dr. Gonzales is passionate about helping build a pipeline for local students, creating opportunities for young people to move from high school into healthcare careers and eventually back into our community as medical professionals at Natividad Medical Center. Strengthening this pathway has the potential to make a lasting impact on healthcare in Monterey County.
