The Cards for Humanity Campaign is collecting cards for seniors again! We want to create a wave of love and send messages of love, gratitude and hope to seniors in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

Project Valentine cards can be any size, store bought or homemade. The cards can be sent in a bundle and they do not need individual envelopes. Card makers can sign the cards with their name or "your neighbor." You can share your favorite quotes, poems or song lyrics about love. Feel free to talk about the people in your life who you cherish. You can share pictures of your family, pets and places that make your heart sing! Cards in English and Spanish would be well loved by the residents. The only limit is your imagination.

Can you commit to sending 10 messages of love? Please share this creative and compassionate call to action with your friends, family, and social networks. This is a great projects for student, teachers, parents, Girl Scout troops, church communities, and service oriented agencies. Please help boost this love signal!

We will be collecting cards until February 1, 2021! We plan on mailing the cards to facilities so they arrive for Valentine’s Day. Our goal is to reach all 2,846 long-term care residents in Monterey County.

Cards can be mailed to the:

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.” - Rumi
