One of my favorite moments from Gina + Mikes wedding. Such a special, intimate first look.
If you know me, you know I LOVE first looks and private vows. Here are a few things I’ve learned about first looks…
1. You get all your nerves out and you’re able to have a special moment with your partner before walking down the aisle.
2. You can save the intimate vows for your spouse. (unless you desire to read them in front of everyone this might not be for you) OR you can read them once, get the crying out of the way and read them again confidently knowing you’ve already done the hard part.
3. This gives the maximum time to spend with your spouse. This normally happens a few hours before the ceremony so you aren’t spending the majority of the day separated.
4. This gives you an opportunity to do bridal party photos and or photos with your spouse before hand so you are able to enjoy your cocktail hour. Seeing friends and family during cocktail hour relieves the stress of having to say hi to everybody right after ceremony (when you should be taking photos) or during dinner (when you should be eating)
Lastly, I have found one of the only reasons couples disagree that first looks are better is due to the first look of walking down the aisle. And I can assure you… that look can never be taken away from you. Photographing as many weddings as I have watching the one you love walk down the aisle is something that has always and will always be cherished. I still get crying, emotional spouses. It’s my favorite part of a wedding.

Some dances you watch… and some you feel forever 🤍
Meredith’s father-daughter dance started with a story — the same book her dad used to read to her when she was little. Then, in a moment no one saw coming, he sang her a song he wrote just for her.
They swayed, soaking it all in… and just when we thought our hearts couldn’t handle more — Faithfully by Journey came on and they broke into a full duet, complete with blow-up guitars, solos, and the kind of joy that fills a room from wall to wall. By the end, they weren’t just dancing — they were rockstars.
This is what it looks like when a dad never stops being your biggest fan.
One father daughter dance I’ll never forget.
