Farmers Ending Hunger

At their core, farmers want to feed people.

Across Oregon, through Farmers Ending Hunger, farmers donate what they grow and raise… cattle, potatoes, onions, wheat, and more. That food is processed, packaged, and distributed through the Oregon Food Bank network so it actually reaches families who need it.

As we celebrate 20 years, that work has delivered more than 40 million pounds of food across our state.

And it matters. Right now, 1 in 6 kids in Oregon is facing food insecurity.

Oregon farmers donate millions of pounds of food to fight hunger Over the last 20 years, farmers across Oregon have donated more than 40 million pounds of food to the Oregon Food Bank and the Oregon Food Bank Network.

We are kicking off Pendleton Round-Up with a thank you dinner for our sponsors and farmer donors. We hope to see you at one of our two booths for Farmers Ending Hunger tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 10th).

Hunger in Oregon is on the rise. Today, 1 in 8 people experience food insecurity including 1 in 6 children. Recently we visited some of our farms with the Oregon Food Bank to see where our food comes from. Thank you to Threemile Canyon Farms, River Point Farms, and Orchard View Cherries for their generous donations of potatoes, onions, ground beef and cherries to feed hungry Oregonians. We love our farmers! ❤️
