Traffic jam at the railroad crossing near Burger King on Rantoul, Cabot and Tozier roads meet. The train track gates are stuck down with the lights flashing traffic is jammed up in every direction.

I ended up turning around in the Burger King parking lot.

On location at the Jean Levesque Life and Community Center at 401 Bridge Street with my girl, Pretty The Mini Pittie . This is where one of the cooling centers is in Salem Massachusetts the other is at 56 margin street at the life bridge shelter and day center. The day center is open 24 hours a day over the next couple of days during the heat wave and for the cooling center. The life and community center is only open till 4 o'clock today and open tomorrow from 11am to 7pm.

One of my questions was Are they letting dogs and pets in under these extreme circumstances because usually it is only service animals.

They didn't have the answer right away but I did receive a phone call from the Fire Chief of Salem Fire and he at first said that the community and life center was not accepting animals unless they were service animals. I then received a phone call from the director and she further discussed with him, which they have approved that animals are also allowed in if they are not service animals as long as they stay with the owners and are taken out when the animals need to use the bathroom.

Here are some facts from studies about the links to increased cancers from ingesting processed meats like hot dogs:

Research shows that eating processed meats like hot dogs is linked to a higher risk of certain cancers, primarily colorectal and stomach cancer. Health organizations cite specific mechanisms and statistics based on worldwide studies.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the WHO, classified processed meat, including hot dogs, as a Group 1 carcinogen based on sufficient evidence that it causes colorectal cancer. A meta-analysis of over 800 studies indicated that consuming 50 grams of processed meat daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%.
