💙 Happy National Siblings Day! 💚
At Kindred Matters, we know one thing to be true: Siblings Deserve To Be Together.
Sibling relationships are often the longest and some of the most meaningful connections we have in our lives. They hold our stories, our laughter, and a deep sense of belonging. And for siblings separated by foster care, adoption, or life’s unexpected turns, those connections matter even more.
That’s why we create spaces like Sibling Camp and KINnect, where joy, reconnection, and memory-making can flourish. 🌲🎨💙
Because these moments aren’t just meaningful, they’re essential.
Today, we’re celebrating sibling bonds in all their forms and the incredible young people we’re honored to serve. 💫
📲 Take a moment today to reach out to your sibling or someone who feels like one. A simple message can mean everything.

💙 Siblings deserve to be together 💙
Siblings are often the longest-lasting relationships in a person’s life.

At Sibling Camp, we make space for them to just be siblings alongside their peers with similar lived experience.

Sharing a sink while brushing their teeth.
Splashing each other and laughing while swimming
Rolling their eyes, teasing, maybe even arguing a little…

At Sibling Camp, that togetherness is theirs whatever it looks like💫

🌟 Sibling Camp 2026 referrals are now open for young people ages 6–26 living apart from a sibling(s).
Referrals welcome from caregivers, providers, caseworkers, CASAs or anyone who knows the young person well. A separate referral is needed for each sibling.

🎤 Volunteer Voices

Our volunteers see firsthand the magic of Sibling Camp—where connection, sibling joy, sibling squabbles and millions of meaningful moments happen all in one place. ✨

Did you know?
Over 50% of our Sibling Camp volunteers last year work in the education field or are students working towards professional degrees. They all bring their passion for supporting kids and families beyond the classroom. We are so grateful that these incredible humans are apart of our Kindred Matters Volunteer Team and get to share their expertise and care while having summer camp fun alongside our campers 💚💙

✨ Board Member Spotlight: Kami Holloway, Board Chair ✨
Kami’s Kindred Matters story started in 2017 as a behind-the-scenes “magic maker” at Sibling Camp — and we’ve been lucky to have her ever since. Today, she serves as our Board Chair, helping guide the vision and future of this community she loves so deeply.
When asked what her favorite thing about Kindred Matters is, she didn’t hesitate:
“The young people we serve are the best time — they are so fun. But I love the camp people. This is the place where I feel the most genuine and best version of myself. I get to be me, with love and acceptance.”
By day, Kami is a Senior Legal Assistant at the world's largest sportswear company🧡. By night? A proud night owl who can be found in bed with her dog Violet watching trashy reality TV (and yes, she has strong opinions about Below Deck — especially Captain Jason).
Fun facts about Kami:
☕ Large black coffee enthusiast
🎧 Loves NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour
🎨 Diamond art aficionado
🐶 Her entire family — including her dog — can touch their tongue to their nose
💙 One word her people use to describe her: Encouraging
We are so grateful for Kami’s leadership, humor, and heart. Kindred Matters is stronger because of her.
