Representative Mark Gamba
I am honored to represent the people of Milwaukie, Oak Grove, and the Sellwood, Eastmoreland, and Woodstock neighborhoods in the Oregon State House of Representatives. While the scope of this new role in the legislature is larger than when I was the mayor of Milwaukie, many of the issues we grapple with are the same. Our residents care deeply about the housing and unhoused crises and want to see a

Please note: I have to reschedule my Constituent Conversation event that was set for this Saturday morning. We are pushing it back by one week. Click here to see my recent newsletter about that and about a few more pieces of legislation I am working on for 2025.

Bill Updates: Two of my priority bills have passed out of their first committees!
HB 4099 encourages cities to defer SDCs and lower the cost to build new housing. It now goes to Ways and Means for consideration.
HB 4155 commissions a comprehensive study of the cost drivers of public infrastructure like roads, library buildings, and water treatment plants. It also goes to Ways and Means.

The short legislative session is truly that: short. The constitution restricts us to just 35 days in even-numbered years and there is so very much we have to get done. If you would like to watch committee meetings, floor debates, and/or sign up to testify, make sure you watch OLIS closely. Let me know if you need help navigating the site.
Hi folks,
Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. I am already recovering and will be okay, but I will be unable to host this evening's Constituent Coffee event. It was going to be at Ardenwald City Park, in Milwaukie. We will plan for the next one to be in the same place and will send out the details once they are finalized.
On a related note, there does seem to be another new, highly contagious variant going around right now. I know several friends and colleagues have gotten sick right around the same time. Please take care of yourselves out there and be mindful of any symptoms. Self-quarantining is one of the best things we can each do to stop the spread, aside from getting vaccinated and staying on top of our booster shots. Which, by the way, you may be able start scheduling now; see here for more information: https://www.opb.org/article/2023/09/13/new-covid-19-vaccine-oregon/
