SAFE has been working hard with volunteers (named in the blog post linked below) to install heat monitors around Salem. 🪛☀️🔩The monitors will help us learn what areas are hotter than others by record the temperature around them every hour. ☀️⏱️☀️

Happy Juneteenth! Earlier this week, we joined the community at Salem’s Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony, hosted by the City of Salem, to honor and celebrate freedom, resilience, and the enduring contributions of Black Americans. ✊🏾🩷

This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Legacy, Building Community Together,” reminds us that creating thriving, equitable communities requires us to recognize the past while working collectively toward a more just future!

We were proud to hear from community leaders and residents who reflected on the significance of Juneteenth and the importance of continuing to build spaces where everyone can belong, contribute, and thrive! ❤️🖤💚
