This is a part-time (10–15 hours/week) position with flexible hours. We're looking for someone with a flexible schedule to help care for our church facilities, handle small repairs, and assist with setting up for events and special activities.

Take a moment to get to know two of the amazing people who make our church family so special, Lawrence and Becky Bridges!

What made you decide this was the place for you?
-Both of us grew up in the Church and as we began our life together, we continued that same practice. In our retirement we moved to St. Simons. As we visited SSUMC, a friend invited us to the Seekers Sunday School class and we are still a part of that class. Attending and becoming members at SSUMC has been a blessing to us. We love this church and its ministry!

What do you love most about being part of this church family? 
-We have been blessed to be a part of small groups which are available to everyone. Groups such as Sunday School, United Women of Faith, Choir, Senior Adult Ministry, Bible studies, etc.  It truly is a wonderful church family. 

How has your faith grown through your time in ministry? 
-Besides the small groups, the worship services are always a blessing. We come away with joy and thanksgiving for the music, preaching, prayer and fellowship. The Church is the center of our life. The Holy Spirit is in this place. 

💙 We are so thankful for members like this who make SSUMC what it is, a true family!

For the past six months, we have been blessed by the faithful leadership of our Interim Pastor, Rev. Benjy Varnell. Through his steady guidance, encouraging words, and servant’s heart, he has led our church with grace during this season of transition.
We are incredibly thankful for him and the impact he has made on our church family. His faithfulness, kindness, and willingness to answer God’s call during this important season have been a true blessing.
As we celebrate all God has done through Pastor Benjy’s ministry, we also look forward with great anticipation to this next chapter.
Join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as we warmly welcome our new Senior Pastor, Rev. David Blackwood, and his family to St. Simons United Methodist Church.
