β If your shoulders keep rounding forward, simply reminding yourself to "stand up straight" won't fix the problem.
Your body will always return to what it's strongest at.
That's why strengthening the muscles between your shoulder blades is so important.
π The key here is scapular retractions.
Think about opening your chest and gently pulling your shoulder blades together while keeping your arms extended. It's not about using heavy resistance. It's about teaching the right muscles to do their job.
Pair these with Rows ( Part 3 ) and you'll start building the strength your posture needs.
Try this simple routine:
β 10 Rows
β 10 Scapular Retractions
β Finish each with 10 small pulses
Repeat for 2 to 3 rounds and stay consistent.
Better posture doesn't happen overnight, but a few minutes each day can make a big difference over time.
If you want to stand taller, move better, and reduce strain on your neck and shoulders, start strengthening the muscles that support your posture.
Make your pain your power.
Turn your weaknesses into strength.
β Most people think better posture comes from simply "standing up straighter." It doesn't.
Good posture comes from strong, stable muscles that keep your shoulders where they belong throughout the day.
If those muscles are weak, your body naturally falls forward, your shoulders round, and over time that can lead to neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, and stiffness.
π The key here is activating the small stabilizing muscles between your shoulder blades.
Forget heavy weights.
Use light resistance and focus on small, controlled squeezes. Imagine you're crushing a soda can between your shoulder blades while keeping your chest tall and your shoulders back.
Those small movements build the strength your posture needs.
Do 2 to 3 sets of 10 reps once a day. Even if you don't have resistance tubing, you can practice these squeezes throughout the day.
Consistency beats intensity when it comes to posture.
If posture is your weakness, turn your weakness into strength.
Make your pain your power.
