WYO Brain Integration

As the scholarship year comes to a close, some families may still have remaining scholarship funds available. We are happy to offer suggestions on meaningful ways to use these resources to continue supporting your student. It has been another great year working with our scholarship families!

He likes to know the why behind everything, so as I was explaining the parahippocampal part of the brain, he paused, eyes wide, and said, “Parranah hippo camel?!?”—and just like that, the inside joke was born. That night he sketched his own version of this wild creature for me to keep. From there, more sketches of new species were created. So special spending time with this Pokémon loving, incredibly creative boy. His imagination knows no bounds!

I started working with this cute girl twords the end of last school year/the summer. Some exciting updates sent from mom over the past couple months. I agree with her teacher that her smile lights up the room ✨

(1) Aug-
“She came home from the FIRST day of school with two papers in her backpack and they were both completed. Like every answer is filled in. She has NEVER come home with a paper completed. And she is basically fine. She just flowed through the first day of 2nd grade. No bid deal. Best first day of anything ever!”

(2) Sept- Email from her teacher to mom

“I just wanted to check in with you and make sure you don’t have any concerns.

I don’t have any myself. She is quick to follow directions and always tries her best. She is so positive in the classroom and her smile lights up the room.”

(3) Oct-
“We went to parent teacher conference last week and they gave us her results from the beginning of the year testing and there was green on the paper! Seeing green made me so happy for her!”

Green= at grade level 💞✨ so proud of this confident girl! What a positive start to an incredible year!

Ruth!!!
She just read for 30 mins without complaining and she is in a great mood after even! This isn’t the norm so something switched for sure!

She has been such a peace maker this afternoon. It’s like a completely different feeling in our home because of it. My heart!

Examples-
She refuses to say the prayer or throws a fit, but at dinner she said “sure!” Then her sister wanted to say it so she helped her.

Her brother was going to a friends and I told him to wear his watch, but it was dead so she offered hers to her brother and said “you can use mine”... (never happens).

Her little sister wanted to go play with a neighbor girl so she said “I can take you, but first you need to get dressed” and she put her clothes and shoes on her little sister and walked her there. The little friend wasn’t home so Ember said she could take her (sister) with her to her friend’s house (our neighbor) and Rose could play with her friend’s little sister. Problem solving and inclusion!! 🥰
