My idea of a fun Sunday morning 😊

“Yes!!! We have a 3-day weekend!!” That’s what most people think when holidays like today pop up, right? If you know a veteran personally, you know that today is so much more than just a holiday… it’s a day to take a moment and reflect on the struggles & challenges that veterans have to endure. I’ve learned that the struggles of serving in the military extend far beyond time served in combat… that the sacrifice veterans have given is a lifelong sacrifice that most people can’t even begin to understand… it’s a sacrifice of physical and mental health, a sacrifice of social and emotional health and well-being, and a sacrifice of lifelong struggles with the most important thing humans have largely lost touch with: meaningful connection and relationships. If you know a veteran personally, perhaps think about taking time to check in and ask the simple question, “how are you doing?”
