Covid-19 Operational Protection Policy:

The following policies are to direct the Outdoor Amusement Business in re-opening procedures and safe operation within the unprecedented circumstances brought about by Covid-19.

The Challenge:

The Outdoor Amusement Business is presently unable to reopen due to the impacts of Covid-19. Social Distancing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) only go so far in protecting the visitors and the employees of each operation. Enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols must be implemented.

Surfaces and products that are subject to human contact must be made safer to handle and be treated against frequent re-contamination.

Frequent discontinuation of services of rides, attractions and amenities for the purpose of repeated cleaning and disinfection is not cost-effective and labor-intensive. Priority must be directed to the operations of these services, visitor safety and enjoyment of the experience as a whole.

The conventional approach to cleaning and disinfection of surfaces has been in two steps:

1. Apply a spray-on cleaning solution and wiping it off with a cloth
2. Apply a spray-on disinfectant solution and wiping it off with a cloth

Disinfectant solutions work to kill bacteria, viruses and other germs while the surface is wet with the product. Once the disinfectant is dried or wiped off, the killing function of the solution ends.
The disinfected surface is immediately subject to re-contamination through human contact or respiratory droplets landing on the surface. Therefore, the surface must be re-cleaned and sanitized once again, thereby creating a circular procedure and not protecting the visitor or employee in-between cleanings.

The Solution: SiArmor

A.T.S. has identified a category of antimicrobial disinfectants which have long-lasting effectiveness. These antimicrobials, when applied to a clean dry surface, have been proven to last up to 90-days. They are spray applied and, once the surface is air dried, create a bonded surface which attracts the microbe and kills it on contact. The coatings are designed to bridge the gap in-between regularly scheduled cleanings.

A.T.S. has determined that SiArmor is such a product and has been in contact with the manufacturer/distributor to conduct due diligence into the underlying technology, value proposition specific to the Outdoor Amusement Business, pricing and availability. We have had discussions with experts in the field, researched EPA requirements and spoken with epidemiologists regarding the effectiveness of this product.
