Help us wish Aika Miranda all the best as they spend their last day with Civic Thread! In Aika's four years at Civic Thread they've grown from a Project Assistant, to Projector Coordinator, and then to a Project Manager. While they've contributed to countless projects and efforts, some highlights from their time at Civic Thread include organizing the Mirasol Village Open Streets Festival, engaging over 60 youth on the City of Sacramento's Vision Zero update, and leading the Zero Carbon Champions youth program. Aika has also built and maintained a strong network of local interpreters and translators, strengthening capacity for language justice in planning across the region. In their time at Civic Thread, Aika also became a League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor, and developed, taught, and implemented bicycle and pedestrian safety curriculum and Safe Routes to School programming to 30+ schools. Aika completed the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute through Organize Sacramento and is a Board Member of the Safe Kids coalition, co-chairing the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety committee. While these examples are in no way exhaustive of Aika's impact on our organization and our region, they are just a few examples of the leadership, community care and heart they bring to everything they do. Join us in celebrating Aika and wishing them continued success in their future endeavors!
