On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM, the City of S**o and its emergency notification provider, CodeRED, will conduct a test of the City’s emergency notification system. This test will send a notification to all numbers and e-mails in the City’s emergency notification database.
If you’ve enrolled in S**o’s CodeRED emergency alert system, or your number is in CodeRED’s public database, we will reach out to you with this test alert through your enrolled devices:
• If your number is in the database for voice calls, you will receive a phone call from the CodeRED emergency notification system. If no one answers, the system will leave a voicemail.
• If your number is in the database for text messages, you will receive a text from the CodeRED emergency notification system.
• If your e-mail is in the database, you will receive an e-mail with a message from the CodeRED emergency notification system.
The sender information below is what you will see when you receive a message. Consider adding these contacts to your phone contacts or e-mail whitelist — call screening settings on some devices may block CodeRED calls from coming through if you do not add this number as a contact.
• Phone Calls: 206-536-3695
• Text Messages: Sent from phone number short code 24639
• Emails: Sent from the domain “.onsolve.net”
Community members are encouraged to visit our website at sacomaine.org/emergencyalerts to log in and update contact information or enroll today. Paper sign-up forms are available at S**o City Hall (300 Main Street) from Executive Assistant Michelle Beasley.
S**o is committed to keeping our community safe and informed through our emergency notification system. This system ensures you receive timely updates from the S**o Police Department or other public safety officials during emergencies.
Thank you for your understanding as we test our system to make sure the community receives notices when they are needed.

On behalf of everyone at the City of S**o and the S**o Police Department, we send our sincere condolences to Warden Tibbetts' entire family, and to the Maine Warden Service.
Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is heartbroken to share that Game Warden Pilot Joshua Tibbetts died this morning in a plane crash in Avon, ME.
Game Warden Pilot Tibbetts served the people of Maine as a Maine Game Warden for 18 years, including the last three years as a pilot for Maine Warden Service. In that role, his specialized aviation work supported search and rescue, law enforcement, fisheries and wildlife conservation, and public safety across the state.
This is an incredibly difficult loss for his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Maine Warden Service. We ask the public to keep his loved ones, his fellow Game Wardens, and all those affected by this tragedy in their thoughts in the days ahead.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Department will cooperate fully with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
We are grateful for the emergency personnel who responded to the scene and for the support already being shown to the Maine Warden Service family.

Animal Control Officers fulfill a unique role, dedicating themselves to the protection of animals and the public alike. This Animal Control Officer (ACO) Appreciation Week, we’re taking the opportunity to thank S**o ACO Kaden Flynn, who started with the City in 2018.
Kaden’s compassion and thoughtfulness shines through in their work. In 2025, they were awarded S**o PD’s Civilian Employee of the Year Award for their commitment to the safety of domestic animals and wildlife and a Meritorious Service Award for their work saving and treating two newborn kittens who were found abandoned in a dumpster.
ACO Flynn’s constant efforts ensure that lost dogs, cats, and other pets are safely returned to their families, that wildlife in crisis are rescued and cared for, that dog licenses are properly managed, and that seasonal piping plover nesting sites are closely monitored.
Please join us in thanking ACO Flynn for their continued compassion and commitment to keeping S**o’s animals safe!
