When we purchased our Funeral Home 2009, the single most important promise to the families we would serve, would be to surpass any expectations they would have. We have worked steadily toward this goal by providing honesty, integrity and compassion to families. From the moment you enter our door to the final good bye of your loved one, we treat our families with compassion in thoughtful ways that

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and a time of deep reflection, and it is significant because it fulfills Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah, particularly Zechariah 9:9, which foretold a king coming to Jerusalem riding on a donkey. This event marks Jesus' triumphal entry into the city, symbolizing peace and the fulfillment of God's promises.

Wishing you joy, peace, and reflection as Holy Week begins.

Did you know that a new permanent sign has been installed at the Woman's Club of Rutherford (founded in 1889), located at 201 Fairview Ave. It now proudly stands on the club’s property near the corner facing Fairview Avenue.

The planning process began nearly a year ago, when a two-person committee was formed to bring the project to life. Leslie Beck, Club Vice President, and I, Club Trustee, eagerly began working on the design, colors, and lettering in collaboration with Majestic Sign Company.

What began as a very amateur sketch from me — one I was hesitant to even share — quickly became some what of the foundation for something special. Once we started, we were fully committed. During our travels, we paid close attention to signage everywhere we went, gathering inspiration from top to bottom. After exploring several ideas and dedicating over a year to the process, the sign is now complete and beautifully in place.

With the approval of our Executive Board and the continued support and guidance of Club President Laura O’Connor, the vision became a reality. Leslie and I felt strongly that the sign’s aesthetic should reflect the spirit of the organization — feminine, elegant, classic, and welcoming. The final design features a soft off-white background with gold leaf lettering and trim, creating a timeless and refined look.

We are incredibly proud of the result and hope the community enjoys it as much as we do. This spring, flowers will be planted and the sign will be professionally illuminated to enhance its presence even further.

It is with deepest gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Borroto family for their generous donation in loving memory of their mother, Ida Borroto. Ida was a cherished member and past president of the Woman’s Club whose dedication, warmth, and leadership touched so many lives.

Through their kindness and generosity, her legacy continues to inspire and uplift our community. This project is made possible in part because of their meaningful gift, and we are truly grateful.

Sincerely,
Debra Mania and Leslie Beck
